The Structured Treatment Day Programme is a community-based development which WDP runs from its Harrow Road project. It is run in conjunction with the Home Office's Drug Intervention Programme (DIP), which works with people who have been arrested for a drug related offence and seeks to break the cycle between drugs and offending. The programme is not abstinence based. It will prepare Clients to go on to abstinence based tier 3 and 4 services, such as residential rehab. |
Referral Criteria:
1. All clients must be residents of the boroughs of Westminster or Kensington and Chelsea.
2. Clients must be signed up to a DIP or on a DRR.
3. Clients do not need to be abstinent to access this service.

Assessment:
The assessment should usually take one hour. If suitable, the client will start the programme from Monday after their assessment.
• Work with clients who are not yet ready to stop using drugs
• Help clients to gain some structure and stability in their lives
• Provide a safe space in which clients can explore their motivation around reducing or stopping their drug use
• Provide clients with some basic living skills through workshops
• Look at clients' fears and concerns around entering in to legal employment and giving up a criminal lifestyle
• Provide practical assistance with education, training and employment issues
• Prepare clients to go on to abstinence-based rehabilitation services
