The Core Trust

In a process that began in February 2007 and has recently completed, The Core Trust and WDP have merged. The merger of the two organisations means that The Core Trust has the operational support and financial backing of the much larger organisation, whilst also being able to preserve its own identity as a provider of unique services for clients endeavouring to remain abstinent.

For over twenty years The Core Trust has pioneered new ways of dealing with alcohol and substance addiction. Core's innovative abstinent based programmes blend traditional therapies with complementary therapies, and offer a range of services to clients with substance use problems.

The Core Trust Service

The service is comprised of three main elements:

1. A structured day rehabilitation programme.
2. A tailor made AfterCare programme. Which may include a Wednesday evening ‘drop in’ & Thursday evening ‘closed’ psychotherapy groups, individual one to one psychotherapy and complementary therapy sessions.
3. CoreKids, which offers support to the children and families of clients accessing the day programme.

The Core Trust is Westminster Drug Project’s first abstinence based service and offers help to sections of the community who often find accessing support difficult:

Women drug and alcohol users
Family networks
Children of drug and alcohol using adults
Service users affected by HIV/AIDS
Clients with domestic violence issues
Drug Intervention Programme (DIP) Clients
